Dinners that are actually done in 30 minutes

"30-minute" is the most abused number in recipe writing. It usually means thirty minutes of cooking, measured from a counter that already has an onion diced, garlic minced, stock measured and the oven at temperature.

The times here are total. Chopping is in them. If a recipe needs the oven hot before anything else happens, that is in them too. Some dishes people think of as quick did not make this page for exactly that reason.

What is left is genuinely a weeknight list: one pan more often than not, ingredients from a normal shop, and nothing that needs a marinade you were supposed to have started last night.
