Ingredients

scaled from 4 servings
  • 3/4 lb, cut in strips boneless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 cups panko bread crumbs
  • 1 large eggs
  • 1 cup, for frying canola oil
  • 1 28 oz bag frozen waffle fries

Method (tap to check — screen stays awake)

  1. Bake the waffle fries at 450F for 22 minutes, flipping once, until the ridges are browned and crisp.
  2. Whisk the honey, mustard and mayonnaise together and refrigerate the dipping sauce.
  3. Season the flour heavily with salt, pepper, paprika and garlic powder, and beat the eggs in a second dish.
  4. Coat each chicken strip in flour, then egg, then panko, pressing firmly so the crumbs form a solid shell.
  5. Fry in 350F oil for 3 minutes per side until the crust is deep gold and the thickest tender reads 165F inside.
  6. Drain on a rack and salt immediately, then serve in baskets with the fries and honey mustard.
