MealPrep for Android
MealPrep isn't on the Play Store. There are two ways to put it on an Android phone, and the first one is the one we recommend.
Install it from your browser
This is the same app, installed straight from the web: a real home-screen icon, full screen, no store account, and it updates itself every time we ship. Ten seconds, no warnings to click through.
- Open getmealprep.com in Chrome.
- Tap the ⋮ menu, top right.
- Tap Install app (Chrome sometimes words it Add to Home screen).
- Confirm Install.

An APK is the Android app package itself — the same file the Play Store would have handed your phone, downloaded from us instead. It is the identical MealPrep: a shell around getmealprep.com, so the recipes, plans and lists inside it are always the live ones.
What installing it this way costs you, said plainly:
- Android will refuse the first time and ask you to allow installing unknown apps from Chrome. That prompt is Android doing its job — you are choosing to trust a file that did not come from a store.
- Play Protect may warn you that the app is from an unknown developer, and offer to scan it. That is normal for any app outside the store, and you have to tap through it.
- It will never update itself. A store app updates in the background; this one does not. The pages inside stay current because they come off the live site, but the shell only changes when you come back here and install a newer file.

Downloading from inside the app doesn't work — open getmealprep.com/download/android in Chrome to get this file.
- Tap the download above, then open it from your notifications or Downloads.
- Allow installing unknown apps when Android asks — it opens the setting for you.
- Tap Install, then Open, and log in as usual.
Either way it is the same account and the same subscription — you pay on the website, and nothing about how you installed it changes what you get.
