Ingredients
- 8 thick slices sourdough bread
- 6 oz, thinly sliced deli ham
- 4 slices swiss cheese
- 1 tbsp, softened butter
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard
- 1 1/2 oz kettle potato chips
- 2 spears dill pickle spears
Method (tap to check — screen stays awake)
- Set a large skillet or griddle over medium heat while you butter one side of every bread slice and spread mustard on the bare sides.
- Build four sandwiches butter-side out, stacking swiss, a loose ruffled pile of ham, then a second slice of swiss so the cheese glues the whole thing shut.
- Griddle two at a time, pressing gently with a spatula, about 3 minutes a side - flip when the underside is deep gold and the cheese along the edge has started to run.
- Cut each melt on the diagonal and plate with a handful of kettle chips and a pickle spear.
