Ingredients
- 3/4 lb sliced deli turkey
- 6 slider rolls
- 4 1/2 oz sliced provolone
- 3 1/2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 small, grated yellow onion
- 1/2 tbsp poppy seeds
- 1 tsp each garlic powder and black pepper
Method (tap to check — screen stays awake)
- Heat the oven to 350°F and butter a 9x13 dish.
- Slice the whole slab of rolls in half horizontally, keeping them connected, and set the bottom half in the dish.
- Layer half the provolone, all the turkey folded into loose ruffles, then the remaining provolone, and cap with the top slab.
- Melt the butter with the mustard, grated onion, garlic powder and poppy seeds and whisk until it emulsifies.
- Pour the butter evenly over the rolls and let it soak in for 5 minutes so the tops absorb rather than fry.
- Cover with foil and bake 15 minutes, then uncover and bake 5 to 8 minutes more until the tops are glossy and deep golden and the cheese runs at the edges.
- Cut apart along the seams and serve hot.
